Sri Lankan Beef Curry

Ingredients
  • Beef 1.2 Kg 

  • Oil 

  • 2 Onions

  • 1 Tomato

  • Curry leaves

  • 1 Teaspoon Ginger and Garlic

  • 2 table spoons of Araliya Dark Roasted Curry Powder 

  • 1 table spoon of Araliya Chilli Powder 

Preparation

Step 1

Cut the beef into slices, prepare onions, tomato, ginger, garlic and curry leaves.

Step 2

Heat the pan with a tea spoon of oil for about a minute till the oil start frying, immediately add the curry powder, chilli powder, garlic, ginger, curry leaves and stir-fry them for about another minute. Add the onions and fry them till it turns golden brown. Add another table spoon of oil, when it start frying, add in the beef and stir-fry.  

Step 3

Keep stir-frying the beef, ensuring it does not get burnt. In 3 minutes, once the flavour is absorbed into the beef, add a glass of water. If you would like a thicker a curry, put less water. Once the water is added, let the beef boil for another 20 minutes on low fire.

 

Step 4

Check if the meat is cooked well. Serve the beef curry, with Araliya Rice, Mango Chutney, Polos Achcharu, Pol Sambol and top it off with a Papdam.
